Subjective well-being refers to that the individual evaluate the overall quality of life based on custom criteria, including life satisfaction, positive affect and negative affect. The rise of positive psychology launched a study boom of subjective well-being. However, the research was concentrated in the relationship study rather than intervention research. And single method was used in the previous studies. In addition, domestic and foreign research findings on the effectiveness of common intervention method on SWB were not consistent. High school is a critical period of adolescents’ physical and psychological development, and is also a high-risk stage for the psychological conflicts and emotional behavioral problems. High school students’ negative emotional experience is more than the positive emotional experience. We should pay more attention on high school students’ emotion and SWB.Counterfactual thinking is thinking activity that denies what have occurred in the past and then constructs a hypothesis. It is an important feature of human consciousness. Counterfactual thinking has emotional function and ready function, having important guiding significance to human behavior. The research assume that counterfactual thinking play a positive role on emotional problems and subjective well-being of high school students. The research explored the impact of counterfactual thinking on emotional of high school students and the impact of intervention on subjective well-being of high school students.The results show that:(1) counterfactual thinking have a positive impact on emotion of high school students, counterfactual thinking make high school students to explore more positive resources and improve their emotional state.(2) counterfactual thinking intervention training can improve the subjective well-being of high school students, counterfactual thinking intervention have a significant role to improve parent-child relationships and peer relationships.(3) counterfactual thinking not only have a positive impact on emotion, but also on the individual’s subjective well-being. The present study also verified that counterfactual thinking not only have the short-term effects.
