With the rapid development of economy and technology, people’s living standard today has been rising greatly. Lots of people leave the countryside and flock to the city for a better life which has resulted in a big wave of population migration. Some of these people are minority. And they came to the city for the same reason.Residencial status is the main aspect of the quality of life. It reflects both the family economics.and personal social positions as well as the survival and developmental situation of the floating population. As a minority, They always have many different desires in daily life. The research about floating population of minority can offer us more insight into the residencial status and living demand of the group than non-minority.This thesis is divided into seven parts. First chapter is introduction, introd uces the origin and background of research, and reviews the academia for eth nic minorities living conditions of the floating population of literature research. The second chapter analyses the present situation of the ethnic minorities in Shanghai,including the total scale.the sum of ethnic.source distribution.degree of cultural features. The third chapter analysis the living distribution of ethnic minorities in Shanghai from area distribution.The fourth and fifth chapter analy sis from living choice and living environment.The sixth chapter build the Logist ic regression to analysis the residential satisfaction.The seventh chapter is the conclusion and suggestions introduce policy about residential and make some suggestions.Chapter eight deficiency and prospect, and puts forward the limitations and points the improvement direction of the future.
