"International Children’s Day", usually refers to "LiuYi" or "Children’s Day" in China, is not only an important part of children’s festival and a major life event in kindergarten, but also an important social event in our country. Since 1950, it refers to the festival which is celebrated on June 1st each year, while from 1950 to 2014, the celebration and content of "International Children’s Day" has shifted. This study focus on the development of Children’s Day during the past sixty years from the perspective of children’s experiences, which attempts to explore the hidden view of education and children behind it.Based on the previous studies of " International Children’s Day" home and aboard, two theoretical basis were included, that is, the New Sociology of Childhood which based on the "children’s perspective", and Sociology of Generation.The research combines the methods of interview, observation and literature., which offers a comprehensive view of different age groups on "International Children’s Day". Taking the time, inter-generation and critical historical event as standard, the author divides the period from 1950 to 2014 into five stages, and summarizes the characteristics of each stage as well. From 1950s to the early 1960s is "the initial establishment period" ,;During the Cultural Revolution which is from 1960s to 1970s is called "the revolutionary period";1980s is the "changing period"; and 1990s,"ritualistic period"; also, the uprising material and spiritual standard of living in the new millennium leads to the "enrichment" of children’s Day.The results showed that with the development of sixty year, both adults and children’understanding of "International Children’s Day" has changed, including the source, way and depth of understanding. Activities of "International Children’s Day" has constantly enriched and improved. The author also explains these changes on the basis of view on children, educational philosophy, regulations and policies, family economic conditions. Finally, the author summarizes the achievements and deficiencies, and proposes some educational suggestions.For example, The role of different subject should be clear:adult is themself-examiner and child is the participant; the activities of "International Children’s Day" should reshape its value:reducing display and commercialized activities; establishing the correct values and the scientific view on children, educational philosophy; reducing extravagant comparisons; activities should conform to the children’s need and development. It is proposed that in a world that is rich in material but impoverishing in spirit, "International Children’s Day" should pursue "the spirit of game", and go back to the original nature of childhood.
