Tsingtao has been dominated by Japanese for twice in the history,and become one of the most important areas where Japanese invested massive money and manpower in China.Actually,there were 300 Japanese that lived in Tsingtao to make their living under the German occupancy from 1898 to 1914.After the win of Japan and Germany war in November,1914,a large number of Japanese packed into Tsingtao.The largest number of Japanese is up to25000.and it has exceeded the number of Shanghai,Tianjin,Nanjing and so on.In the first chapter,we can learn the special time background that lots of Japanese traveled overseas in search of living.They came to Shanghai,Dalian,Yantai and other cities of China.The chapter two analysis the born of Japanese society in Tsingtao under the occupancy of Germany.The number of the Japanese, the profession of Japanese,and the reasons for they coming to Tsingtao will be explained.The chapter three introduce the policies adopted by Japanese government between 1914 and 1922.Due to the restoration and reconstruction of the infrastructures,new preferential policies,more and more Japanese choose to do business in Tsingtao.The last chapter focus on the social life of the Japanese lived in Tstingtao.We can learn about their daily life from their medical treatment,education for Japanese children,entertainment and consumption level.
