| As time goes by and with the development of thought, our government is becoming service-oriented government. People’s life style, living habits and health awareness are improving greatly, and this makes people want to find a way to keep psychological and physical health. Community sport is the most convenient type of exercises. There are a number of benefits of community sport:Firstly, the place is near and this will be convenient and save time. Secondly, it is economical for residents. Thirdly, people could get along well with each other while doing sports. In 2002, our country put forward the system of public sports service which means public divisions, especially government, offer sports products and service to residents in order to meet individuals’ sports need. Sports service can make all parts of sport become a combination and make best use of it.This paper investigated 28 communities in Xiaodian District by the way of questionnaires, documents, investigation and logical analysis and found out the public sports service has been carried out in this district as following: 1. This district is covered by sports sites and equipments;2. The government manages some sports group and also assist them to manage themselves;3. A wide range of public sports activities have been held;4. Fitness and health monitoring system has been known by some residents;5. The directors in Xiaodian District volunteer to teach residents;6. Residents can obtain some information about sports. There are some problems as well:1 The management of public sports equipment is not good enough and only a few equipment is open to people. What is more, there is not a professional standard;2. The number of basic level sports organizations is small, and there is no training for sports professions;3. There is no positive cycle like " monitoring-announcing results-finding methods-researching";4. Some communities still do not have sports activities;5. We lack high-qualified directors;6. The sports education is to be improved as well.This paper makes conclusions as following:1. It is a fact that there is sports equipment service in the communities of Xiaodian District, Taiyuan, but the problems are low standard of service and people’s satisfaction and these are caused by the scarcity of equipment;2. The sports organization service also has the same problem;3. There is sports activities service in Xiaodian District, Taiyuan and people are satisfied with it;4. Residents are not pleased with sports teaching service, for the lack of qualified instructors;5. Residents are not satisfied with the sports monitoring system in Xiaodian District because most of the monitoring sites do not work well;6.There is sports information service in this district and the service is not bad, but the degree of satisfaction is neither better nor worse;7. In order to achieve sustainable development of public sports system, the third department and marketing system are also needed. |
