Modern Educational Research Of Huizhou During The War Of Resistance Against Japan

The ancient Huizhou area formed a kind of self-contained regional culture after a long period of historical development. It has a strong cultural atmosphere here and it is a place endowed with the fine spirits of the universe which has brought up many men of talent. These achievements can’t be separated from the great emphasis on education from the ancient in Huizhou area. Huizhou had experienced the impacts of modernization since the modern times. The development of education in Huizhou changed a lot with the changes of times and made great progress. The new modern education took place of the traditional education in the Republican period and modern education of Huizhou grew out nothing and made remarkable progress.The Japanese imperialists launched all-out attack on China in 1937 and China had an extremely hard time during the Anti Japanese War. During the period of the war, Huizhou didn’t suffer the all-out attack of the Japanese troops because of the particular geographical characteristics so that the society, economic and culture in Huizhou area differed from the occupied areas. For instance, the development of education in Huizhou, majority of schools weren’t destroyed by the war in a large area. Instead, a lot of schools from other places moved in and Huizhou didn’t suffer the destruction of the war directly, which made the education in Huizhou acquire great development and especially achieved the initial development of higher education that the Shanghai Law College moved in and opened.Therefore, it’s especially important to research the education in Huizhou deeply. This paper aims to make everyone know the development of education during the period of the War of Resistance against Japan clearly and really and the achievements achieved through the study on the results of previous researches with the addition of the abundant collection and organization of the original data. The paper also combines the development of education in Huizhou with the educational development in other parts of Anhui province to discuss the reasons the great achievements of the educational development in Huizhou. At the same time, it is aimed at enriching the studies on Huizhou especially the studies on the education of Huizhou through the researches on the educational development in this special period.Specifically, this paper would discuss in four chapters.The first chapter states the educational transition of Huizhou during the Republican period including the prosperity of the traditional education in Huizhou. It also discusses the start and the initial development of Huizhou education when faced with the impacts of modern education.The second chapter focuses on the overall researches and discussions about the educational development of every district in Huizhou during the period of the War of Resistance against Japan including elementary education, secondary education, higher education, teacher education, professional education and the development of all types of education at all levels.The third chapter analyzes the features and the causes of formation of educational development in Huizhou. This chapter also deepens the cognition to the modern educational development in Huizhou through the compare and study of the educational development situation in other districts including the anti-Japanese democratic base areas and the enemy-occupied areas in Anhui.The forth chapter analyzes the problems and the deficiencies of the educational development in Huizhou during the anti-Japanese war. This part also summarizes the achievements and the impacts of modern education in Huizhou.
