The American National Teacher of the Year is the most excellent teacher in America. For China’s reality which need a large number of outstanding teachers,the analysis of the National Teacher’s selection and key characteristics,has urge-nt and realistic significance.The paper can be divided into five parts, analyzing the national teacher of the year:The first part mainly clarifies the reasons and significance of this topic,gathering material of the American National Teacher of the Tear and the growth about teacher,to deepen the National Teacher of Year’s study.The second part introduces the selection about the National Teacher of the year. The fierce education competition, decline of educational standards, emerging of educational reform thoughts, the lower Teachers’ professional level are the backgrounds of the selection program.And from those four aspects introduce the selection detailed rules and regulations.In the end of this chapter,this paper introduce the American National Teacher of the year’s honor and duty.By analysing the American National Teacher of the Tear’s education personality,education ideas,education behavior,the third part summary the American National of the Year’s key characteristic. The National Teacher of the Year’s education personality can be divided into the following three aspects: sacred social image, lofty morals cultivation, positive mental quality; education idea can be divided into three aspects: occupation view, student view, teaching view; education behavior be divided into the following angles: reflection, cooperation, teaching innovation. The fourth part analyzes the influence and effect of the American National Teacher of the Year.:demonstration and radiation effect, innovation and the propagation effect.The fifth part is the enlightenment and reference. This chapter not only from the American National Teacher of the Year obtains implications for professional growth of elementary school teachers, but from the perspective of teachers honor system, from the American experience to improve China’s teachers honor system.
