Moral responsibility is actually no longer a newborn discussion and has got a lot of attention during its process of development. The contemporary university students are playing the role of the country’s future, the nation’s hope, as well as the elites for pursuing and achieving the ideal society. In the 21 st century, the economic globalization is rapidly becoming the mainstream all over the world. The diversity of the new world has brought convenience to our lives, and meanwhile promoted social and human developments. However, it also brings problems, of which are the impacts on the value and the world view of contemporary university students. In this situation, the education of moral responsibility is facing a severe challenge. The value and the world view of contemporary university students has repeatedly touched the bottom line of moral, which presents difficulties and challenges to the contemporary educators. Therefore, the studies on moral responsibility education for contemporary university students are of great importance. This thesis applies the methodologies of documentation and induction to analyse the moral responsibility education for university students. Moreover, combined with the background of the lack of moral responsibility education, this thesis will analyze the problems of contemporary university students’ moral responsibily from the perspectives of the students, families, universities and the society, and then provide the reasons and corresponding solutions.This thesis consists of four parts. Part one gives the purpose and the significance of the study, as well as the literature review both abroad and at home. Part two introduces the basic concept and the significance of moral responsibility education and meanwhile defines the meanings of morality, moral responsibility and moral responsibility education. Part three analyzes the problems and reasons of moral responsibility education from the perspective of the indifferent cognition, the lack of moral responsibility education in the system of examination-oriented education, the parents’ concept of “valuing intelligence over morality”, negative social elements and so forth. Finally, the discussion will focus on the factors of students, universities, families and the society to find out the reasons of moral responsibility education. Part four will provide a dialectical and united solution with the combination of self-education, family education, university education and social education to enhance the moral responsibility education for contemporary university students.The moral responsibility education for university student is related to not only the healthy growth of students, but the future development of our country. The lack of moral responsibility education, therefore, will endanger their own development and bring severe problems to the development of harmonious society and people’s lives. For these reasons, the moral responsibility education for contemporary university students has admit of no delay.
