The purpose of this study is to compare the strength and power training effects of Block Undulating-Periodization (BUP) and Undulating-Periodization (UP) in the level of National Basketball League. There were 16 athletes participated in this study whose average age was 23.6 and all of them have more than 4 years strength and power training experience. Subjects were divided into two groups based on the strength testing results. There were 3tests in all,T1,T2 and T3 respectively before the first week, after the 6th week and the 12th week. Every participant were tested by 1RM Hang snatch,1RM Bench press,1RM Back squat and Vertical jump. Compared with the Vertical jump results, there were significant differences between T1 and T3 in both group(P<0.05), no significant differences between two group; the increment were higher in BUP group than UP group(BUP:31.1%T1-T3, UP:25.2%T1-T3). Compared with the 1RM Bench press results, there were significant differences between T1 and T3 in both group(P<0.05), no significant differences between two group; the increment were higher in BUP group than UP group(BUP:14.7%T1T3, UP: 12.1%T1-T3). Compared with the 1RM Hang snatch results, there were significant differences between T1 and T3 in both group(P<0.05), no significant differences between two group; the increment were higher in BUP group than UP group(BUP: 14.3%T1-T3, UP:11%T1-T3). Compared with the 1RM Back squat results, there were significant differences between T1 and T3 in both group(P<0.05),no significant differences between two group; the increment were higher in UP group than BUP group(BUP:9.9%T1-T3, UP:11.4%T1-T3).Based on the results of this study, both methods were effective in develop the strength and power for NBL basketball player. The variability of training intensity ranges in block and increase progressively, were more prevalent in develop the upper-body strength power and explosiveness; as the training intensity ranges from power and 1RM to 15RM during the whole period, which were more prevalent for lower-body strength.
