The specialization and professionalization of social work deepens at the procedure of providing specialized service for the society,as an occupation, social work is gradually accepted by the society. But at the same time, social workers often need to contact more negative energy due to the particularity of social work. Social workers need to face the difficulties and challenges as job burnout and depletion. From the related domestic literature research, the researches of the social workers mainly focus on the study related social worker career, and research is relatively scattered, systematic study has not been formed. The number of the research of the social workers’ mental health is few and the number of the research specific to the measurement and study of anxiety and depression of social workers is also very few.Anxiety and depression are two negative psychological states and usually occur accompanied. The level of anxiety and depression of social workers reflects the psychological feeling of social workers who treat the work environment, not only affects the service attitude and behavior of the social workers, but also affect the talent team construction of social work and the development of social work career, thus further have an influence on the specialization, professionalization of social work..This article adopting beck anxiety inventory (BAI), beck depression inventory (BDI)is to measure the level of anxiety and depression of youth social workers in Nanjing, andcombines with semi-structured in-depth interviews to excavate and analysis influence factors of the anxiety and depression status of Nanjing youth social workers deeply, and tries to explore the related policies to maintain the mental health of youth social worker, and promotes their working environment improved.This article contains three parts. The first part is to introduced the research background, questions, purpose and meaning,and to clear the concept of anxiety and depression on the basis of combing the literature, and to clarify the research of anxiety and depression and social workers at home and abroad, also to make instructions of the applicable scope and the reliability and validity of the beck anxiety inventory and beck depression inventory. The second part presents the current situation of the anxiety and depression of social workers, and analyzes the related influence factors of anxiety and depression through the regression analysis of survey data combined the semi-structured depth interview with six cases of institutional social workers. The third part is to explore possible improvement strategies from organization environment and the social support which two aspects under the current system of vocational combined with the expectations and requirements of social workers.The results showed that the level of anxiety of the social worker group in Nanjing is lighter, but 4.5% of the social workers present positive anxiety; and the level of depression of the social worker group in Nanjing is not optimistic,67.6% of the social workers showed different degrees of depression. Among them 47.7% of the total showed mild depression, and 11.9% of the total showed moderate depression, and 8.0% of total showed severe depression. The anxiety score of married social workers is higher than unmarried social workers. And the age, culture level, monthly average income, average weekly working hours of social workers are negatively correlated with anxiety; Female social worker have higher levels of depression, at the same time social workers whose degree is master show the most serious depression. Intervention of anxiety and depression of social workers should set out from organizational environment and social support.
