The Research Of Formulation And Implementation Of Self-determination Individualized Support Plan On Children With Mental Disability

With the concept of special education changing, the the original concept focus on the inherent disorder, but as support the concept put forward, people began to focus on the potential for disorder. They often appear limited functionality in case of interaction with the environment, to provide support for them can help them achieve better interaction. Many studies have begun to focus on improving the quality of life in the ISP-related personal outcomes, but there were many researches of IEP, but that is inherently flawed IEP too much attention to the student’s ability to develop more competence, not concerned about the children change and development, and therefore the international community is now emphasized by ISP instead of IEP, our research on ISP rarely, there is a very important element of self-determination in the formulation and implementation of ISP process, the world of impaired self-determination also began extensive studies have shown that the earlier the intervention concern the more favorable development of self-determination.This study attempts to develop individual support program(ISP) under the framework of life quality, focusing on the self-determination elements under the framework of life quality, choosing three children with mental retardation, based on the respect of their self-determination,making individual support plan(ISP) for them, calibrate the support to determine the effectiveness of support strategy and check the results of ISP test. meanwhile, summarize the matters needing attention of the development and implementation of ISP.The results of the study show that for children with mental disability, formulating and implementing ISP, there is an immediate and sustaining effects on achieving goals and the degree of support, and can achieve the goal of self decision support to improve the quality of life of individual achievements under the framework.
