| According to the syllabus and the New Curriculum standard, it is important to foster students’ interest in English learning and to improve their basic language skills. English classes in Junior schools should offer conditions for students’ improvement, and base their lifelong learning. Grade one in Junior schools is a beginning for English learning, as well an important part to cultivate the interest. The thesis tries to explore some effective ways of playing games in Grade-One English classroom so as to improve students’ strong interest in English learning and their language skills.During my teaching experience, I have mainly tried some 4 ways of playing games in my Grade-One English classroom, and they are singing English songs, drawing simple pictures, role-playing, learning new words in an interesting way. Three kinds of games are used as English songs, drawings and role play. According to the analysis after applying the teaching designs, the thesis shows that playing games in English classroom is a scientific teaching method that should be accurately used in Junior schools. Games with scientific theory and specific goals can certainly improve the students’ learning enthusiasm, reduce their burdens while learning a new language, and to make them learn English with fun.The thesis, based on literature, observations and applying, researches English game teaching in Grade-One. It also helps teachers to use appropriate games to arouse students’ passion for English learning, to make English learning more effective, and get the goal of “learning with funâ€. |
