Play is an important subject in the category of education, children growth cannot leave the play. Play as one of the forms of English teaching, it can make English classroom actively, and create a relaxed and happy atmosphere.At the same time, it helps education activities break away from utilitarianism, and pay attention to the enriching students’ spirit of the rich and human nature, as well as achieving school education.This research is mainly in order to deeply understand the play and the nature that has the spirit of play.In the spirit of the play to observe the problems of primary school English classroom teaching in China, in order to realize the play and English teaching in-depth development, and put forward feasible strategies.In the first part,the paper analyzes the definition of play, the play spirit, further analyzes the relationship of the game, game spirit and English teaching, and then find a point with primary school English classroom teaching, so as to clear the main content of this study. Play and English teaching are both interpersonal activity forms, and linked with the teaching purpose.As a result, it makes the teachers and students can get the pleasure of life and development from the teaching activity itself. In the second part, in view of the current primary school English classroom teaching target position is not accurate, content lack of innovation,play design difficulty, participation is not enough, lack of student’s emotion and failing to highlight the students,to discuss the current performance primary school English classroom teaching in China and the reasons of the lack of spirit of the play.Finally, combining with literature induction, case analysis, based on game theory, from building play concept, determine the game teaching goal, research students, fully interactive, and moderate guide aspects of classroom teaching strategies to improve primary school English classroom teaching. This article mainly learns from the play spirit and the concept of new curriculum reform, quality education and so on, aiming to explore the application value of play spirit in the primary school English classroom teaching.
