Games are an essential part of the life of the children. The application of Games Teaching Method can make the classroom teaching lively. It can also enhance the students’ learning interests, decrease the students’ learning pressure and arouse the students’ learning enthusiasm, so as to improve the classroom teaching efficiency and realize the construction of learners’ classroom. In order to enhance the English teachers’ understanding of the significance of Games Teaching Method and rich their strategies of applying Games Teaching Method, we determine to do some research on this research topic: A study on the application of Games Teaching Method in primary school low grade English classroom teaching. With the usage of qualitative research method, this study acquires a series of outcomes by comparing the twelve teaching games among the four lessons in the two experiment groups.Firstly, this research helps the teachers find out what factors effect the effective application of Games Teaching Method in primary low grade English classroom teaching, including the factors should be considered when designing and implementing a teaching game.1.The factors should be considered when designing a scientific teaching game are:(1) The core goal of the classroom teaching should be specific and the teaching game should have strong teleonomy and pertinence.(2)The logical relationship of the teaching games in one lesson should be specific and the teaching games should be arranged in a reasonable order.(3) To analyze the learners characteristics and try to meet the learners’ learning needs.(4) To keep the form of the teaching games fresh and new in order to arouse the students’ enthusiasm of participation.2. The factors should be considered when implementing a teaching game effectively:(1) The instruction should be clear and the demand should be specific.(2) The demonstration should be in place.(3) The organization should be ordered and the adjustment should be reasonable.(4) The assessment should be scientific.(5) The teacher should have an accurate role definition.Secondly, this research summarize the teaching mode of Games Teaching Method. That is The Games Teaching Mode Based on Task in Low Grade in Primary School English Teaching. The basic process of the mode: Warm-up and lead-in—Task presentation—Text learning —Practice and consolidation —Task completion — Summary and homework. The teaching mode provide a strong support for the effective application of Games Teaching Method.In addition, this research designs teaching games match with the contents of each unit of the textbooks from Grade One to Grade Two. The games can be used either directly or creatively. They are good references for the teachers when designing teaching games.This research further improve that Games Teaching Method is very important to English education and teaching, especially to the low grade English education and teaching. With the efficient application of Games Teaching Method, we can arouse the pupils’ enthusiasm of English learning fully, develop the pupils’ mind, make them enjoy English learning and help them learn English well, so as to enhance the efficiency of classroom teaching and promote the quality of English education and teaching.
