College Counselors, an important part of university faculty, are not only guiders of ideological and political education but also managers of learning and life for college students. As a young team, counselors who are the generation after 80s have their unique characteristics. In recent years, the State Council attached great importance to the development of College Counselors, thus the counselors’ team construction ushered spring flourish. However, with the significant changes in characteristics of college students, counselors are facing many new situations and problems. Therefore, it has great practical significance to explore the development direction of College Counselors’ team.Taking Xi’an Technological University as an example, this paper conducts an empirical research on the effectiveness and problem of the current College Counselors’ team construction, and explores the specific construction measures after an in-depth analysis of the relevant reasons. This research focuses on the College Counselors’ team construction from the empirical level, effectively avoiding the shortage of purely theoretical analysis, providing a reliable basis and valuable suggestions for deepening the College Counselors’ team construction.This paper consists of five parts. The first part, introduction, mainly raises questions, explains the background, ideas and methods of the research, and then reviews the related literatures. The second part analyzes the current development status of College Counselors’ team in Xi’an Technological University by using literature research method, empirical research method, and comparative literature analysis method. The third part explores the current situation and problems of College Counselors’ team in China, especially on the importance of counselors and factors analysis of counselors themselves. The fourth part compares the distinctive part of College Student Affairs Management mode in the United States, Britain, Taiwan, and Hong Kong in order to inspire the College Counselors’ team construction in the whole country. The fifth part summarizes the current situation and problems of College Counselors’ team construction and provides the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for improvement.
