There were more and more schools opening various specialized sport lessons since 2012 when Shanghai City Education Department promoted physical education curriculums reform. As a result, a great challenge including the number of PE teachers and high standard of field and facilities had been met for facing an increasing number of participants. So far, there are seven high schools reforming volleyball training courses, which aim at solving enhancing teenagers’ volleyball skills and the decline of health standards of them. The key to improving the quality of volleyball training lessons refers to how to implement, which means that how to transfer the idea, purpose and the task of reform into practice. This paper uses research methodology of literature, questionnaire and interview ect, to investigate seven high schools referred above. The investigation includes the status of volleyball training courses, the perception of participants to this change and the assessment of it. Apart from its achievement, the research also points out the problems existed. The conclusion is as below,Ⅰ)It brings about great changes into class size, curriculum schedule, course content and teaching and learning method in order to promote volleyball training courses. Meanwhile, teachers interviewed are short of theoretical knowledge and guidance to coach. On the other hand, it is somewhat difficult for students to join volleyball activities frequently as they need devote most of their available time on studying under this test-orientated environment. In addition, although the course content selected can match students’ learning pace it should be simplified a little bit. Lastly, none of high schools we investigated implement grouping teaching.Ⅱ)Teachers, the professionals, are positive to volleyball training curriculums. Also because of their profession in volleyball coaching, they understand the function of the courses accurately and can optimize teaching method. But there are some teachers hold onto their out-dated pedagogical measure as well, who lack self motivations to enhance their teaching measures. In addition, they believe it lacks effective communication so they extremely expect they could be trained more with theoretical knowledge. Also, they lack confidence to promote volleyball training courses prevalent across Shanghai. On the contrary, students reflect that they enjoy this change very much, as 80 minuets’training course satisfies their exercise need very well.Ⅲ) On the environmental aspect, there has good sport atmosphere in those high schools, which hold campus sport activities such as quiz regularly. Other than this, the number of volleyball courts and volleyball can meet the growing needs of students’ exercise. However, there are not enough indoor volleyball courts for professional training in some of high schools.Ⅳ) Most students have positive attitudes to volleyball training section and with the process. After one year’s participation, most of them become good at passing and digging volleyball but still weak at spiking. What is also improved is those participants’ health level and interest in playing volleyball, which brings about benefits in their self-conscious of the importance of exercise.Ⅴ) The factor which influence the implementation of volleyball training courses varies, such as how deep school leaders support, theory construction, the qualification of teachers, filed condition, the difficulty of volleyball teaching and the environment of test-orientation education, ect,. The importance sequences from the first to the last.
