Objective: This study aims at finding out the effect of balance training on striking stability byobserving the changes of striking stability before and after the application of static and dynamic balancetraining to tennis specialized students in Shenyang Sport University. Hopefully, the determination of theeffect and the establishment of evaluation mechanism can help to improve the striking stability of the studentswho specialize in tennis in Shenyang Sport University.Research Methods: Literature research, data analysis are employed and experiment is conducted..Subjects: Twelve tennis specialized students are randomly chosen.Experiment: The twelve subjects are randomly divided into two groups (named A and B). Eachgroup consists of6members. A is the experimental group, B the controlled one. The two groups are givenclass training of the same length and frequency. In each of the four-time class training a week,5-8minutesare committed to balance training for group A and free exercises for group B. Balance training is givenaccording to Evert Verhagen training plan. All the subjects are tested on their static balance ability, dynamicbalance ability and striking stability before and after the experiment.1. Static balance ability test: All the subjects are tested on their balance abilities under8differentstanding stances by the banlance ability test instrument.2. Dynamic balance ability test: All the subjects are tested on their gravity controlling ability in themovement towards the directions indicated by the screen of the test instrument under the conditions ofstanding on bothe one foot and two feet with their eyes opened and closed respectively.3. Striking stability test:All the subjects are tested on their striking stability by the ITN measurents forthe accuracy of striking at the baseline while they are making the required10forehand and backhand strokesand the10diagonally–directed stroke at the baseline.Findings:1. There was no statistically significant difference between the expreimental group and thecontrolled group in terms of the static balance ability, dynamic balance abiltiy and the striking stability beforethe experiment.2. After the experiment, the expreimental group are superior to the controlled one in thoserespcets.3. The experimental group have significantly improved their striking ability after the experiment.4.The controlled group have also made significan progress in their striking ability after the experiment, but therange of the improvement is not as significant as that of the experimental group. Conclusions: Balance training can better improve specialized students’ striking stability.
