Since the 1990s, with the increasing emphasis on National Education, the universities in our country has been in a state of enrollment expansion. The number of national education has improved, but the quality has declined. At present, the music quality is not optimistic. In music education, the art practice teaching is a very important course.Music major as an independent discipline is from the middle of nineteenth Century. The definition is the training of basic knowledge of the Mars doctrine theory and the system of the professional literacy, to have practical skills and teaching ability. To be the senior specialized talents engaged in teaching, research, editing, review, management and other aspects of the work. In high, medium professional or ordinary universities, community art organizations, art research and cultural institutions, publishing and broadcasting, film and Television Department. The article relates to the music major is different from the College of music education. For example, China Conservatory of Music, Center Conservatory of Music, Xinghai Conservatory of Music and other colleges. These institutions focused on pure theory teaching. But in this article, the investigation is in such a situation:since twentieth Century, with the development of music culture, more and more colleges and universities set up a major in music (some of them called music education). But with the passage of time, these colleges music education has become a music theory knowledge as foundation, but also accompanied by music practice expand the education form. The systematic of music theory and art practice to test and improve the student’s professional level and makes subject more full. Thus lay the foundation for future teachers strength.In this article, the author based on the principle of representative, with three different types of colleges and universities in Ji’nan as the research object. They are Shandong University(comprehensive university), Shandong Normal University(normal college) and Shandong College of Arts(professional college). The author investigated and analyzed the art practice teaching of music major on present situation respectively (Because of the music major in Academy of Music is majoring in knowledge theory, so the author turned to the music major in Academy of Music Education), and also summarized the characteristics of the three colleges and universities in their art practice training. At the same time, to analysis the advantages and disadvantages. Hope to be able to draw inspiration, to find out the suitable for the art practice teaching of music major and put forward some improved methods. In order to make the art practice teaching better, to improve the present situation and make some contribution. Finally, the author will write the lack and inadequacy of this thesis, hope it will be helpful to the student and scholars that interested in art practice teaching.
