Academic emotions plays an important role for students’academic activities as a kind of non intelligence factors in the process of students’ learning, it has become a hot research field of development psychology. Good academic emotions development has important significance for promoting students’ academic and physical and mental development. Especially the first grade of the junior middle school stage, for which to lay a good foundation for the whole junior stage’s learning.This study selected two natural classes as a random sample in 14 classes of Changsha City Zhounan experimental school in grade 1, one is the experimental class (52 persons), the other is control group (49 persons), a total of 101 persons as the research object.The experiment using pretest and post test for the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group and the control group received two test including pretest and post test.Designing a group counseling intervention program through the collection,sorting and integration of literature, the basis of the research results,and with rational emotive therapy technology. The experimental group members accept a period of three months, a total of 12 times of group counseling, while the control group go on an ordinary teaching, do not accept any experiment processing, in order to examine the effect of group counseling on the junior high school students’ academic emotions. The independent variables of the research is the group counseling, and the dependent variable is the academic emotion, in the experimental group who had accepted the group counseling, according to the scores they got in "Youth Academic Emotion questionnaire"which established by Yu Guoliang, Dong Yan,to investigate the effect of intervention of the class group counseling intervention plan which including negative high arousal academic emotion, negative low arousal academic emotions, positive high arousal academic emotions, positive low arousal academic emotions. Through the above analysis and discussion,we got the following conclusions:1、Group counseling has certain remarkable achievement of the intervention to the junior high school students’positive academic emotions, but the effect of the negative academic emotions is not significant.2、This group counseling program is effective and applicable for junior middle school students.
