In 1980s, Professor Deng Ning, a domain expert in international business theory, had predicted that innovation and entrepreneurship would influence international business activities significantly. With the deepening of economic globalization, the emergence of entrepreneurial economy and the increasing spread of information about international market, investment and operation, all kinds of enterprises could get closer to international market than before. In that circumstance, a brand-new form of international organizations, which is quite different from the traditional ones, called international new venture, appeared and developed very quickly. The superior innovation quality and rapid growth of international new ventures have drawn many international scholars’attention. In recent years, some also appeared in China, and when setting up they began to take advantage of highly internationalized capitals and technology to effectively integrate and allocate resources in the global with the goal of accessing to international market.The biggest problems facing international new ventures at first are the lack of enough resources and information. In order to fully satisfy their development needs, they have to rely on external economic organizations. The causes of the difficulty for international new ventures to get resources and information are as follows:small scale, few tangible assets as collaterals, big uncertainty of operating, weak capability for external economic shocks, and lack of good image and good will.As the theory of social capitals has been permeating organization and management and economic filed, social networks have been a very effective way for international new ventures to obtain resources and information. Although many studies on the performance of international new ventures by Chinese scholars have laid a foundation, study still has not gone to mature yet in terms of social networks. However, social networks have turned out to be quite positive for our country’s international new ventures to obtain resources and information.Scholars abroad have produced some achievements about it, but the study is still in the exploring stage with lack of systematic and in-depth research. In comparison, study for it in our country is more lack of empirical researches. What’s more, there is very few studies on the factors that could influence the building and development of social networks during the establishment of international new ventures. Based on some related mature measurement theory of social networks and the results of a large-scale research on the international new ventures in Anhui Province, this thesis comprehensively analyzes the influence of social networks on the performance of Anhui’s international new ventures by setting a mechanism model of many factors and using some theoretical hypothesis. As for the research methods, this paper uses a framework of qualitative & quantitative analysis, literature & theoretical analysis, questionnaires and sample statistics analysis to make research results most reasonable and practical.This thesis consists of six parts. The first part is the introduction part, which is about research background, research significance, literature review, research thinking, research methods and innovation points. The second part introduces the related theories and concepts. The third part mainly analyze the mechanism model about the influence of social networks on the performance of international new ventures. The forth part mainly describes the empirical analysis based on the data from Anhui and summarizes the empirical results. The fifth part concludes the research results and puts forward the research revelation. The research results show that there is a proportional relationship existing in:the scale of social networks and the growth of international sales; the strength of social networks and the growth of profits from international markets; and the heterogeneity of social networks and the good images of international new ventures.As last, some suggestions are given to improve the performance of international new ventures in Anhui, which are as follows:strengthen social networks building and maintenance; enlarge the scale; improve the strength and heterogeneity.
