The number of college graduates is dramatically increasing in recent years,influenced by international economic situation, China’s economic situation is not stable,the supply and demand on the college students employment market presents a generalglut. Many college students are facing a dilemma that "graduation meansunemployment". University students’ employment difficulty has become a socialproblem to be solved, also is the hot spot problem for the domestic academic research.This study using questionnaire method investigates the graduates in Xi’anUniversities to get the university graduates’ social relationship information. Under theguidance of social network theory, proceed from the basic network characteristics, suchas the number of network related parties and the intense of network relationship, usingUcinet6and SPSS18software for investigation of social network analysis, crossanalysis and chi-square test, so that the conclusion which is the employment networkhas different influence on university students’ employment choice will be reached.Through further verification of logistic regression analysis, and the following resultswill be concluded:Frist in college students’ social network, proprietary networks ofdifferent professional are different, but because of the school environment, thefrequency of professors and classmates in all job-hunting network will be higher;Secendthe investigation shows that ways of university students’ employment commonly usedare network recruitment, parents’ recommendation, relatives and friends’ introduction,tutor’s recommendation, radio and television recruitment, campus recruitment andtalents market recruitment. This study finds that Liberal Arts students more depend ontheir parents, relatives and friends to find a job, while more science students get a job bymeans of teachers’ recommending;Third the social network has a great influence on thechoice of university students’ employment ways. Usually, the possibility of choosing a job through relationship will be greater, and the more of the number of network relatedparties, the more social resource support will be obtained. The time knowing withrelated parties is longer, the interaction frequency is higher, the relationship is closer,which will offer more employment information for university students and more helpfulfor choice of university students’ employment.On the basis of analysis and study, in view of university students’ networkcharacteristics and choice of university students’ employment ways existing difference,combined with the factors affecting university students’ employment, some advice willbe put forward:First of all college students shoud establish and maintain good socialrelations, and strengthen the communication with relevant parties, at the sametime,shoud improve their overall qualities and employment competitiveness; Next theschool should help students set up the consciousness of the construction of socialrelations network, and set up curriculum scientifically,according to the needs ofsociety;Again, the family need to coordinate the school and college students,communicate informations on choosing a job with students;Last the government shoudprovide more beneficial policy guarantee and fair and just employment environment foruniversity students’ employment.
