Abstract/Summary:
This research was conducted on the primary students in a grade one class in Jinjiang District. Through literature research, explores the theoretical background of pupils in respect of peer education. According to a pre-action survey on the status of peer respecting behavior of these students, the researcher analyzed some similarities and differences among students. This research follows the basic steps of action research in a natural educational context. This research based on several educational theories such a critical period theory, Behaviorism and Constructivism. This research aimed to train the respecting peers behavior habits of these first grade students Based on above appropriate educational activities through three cycles of actions were carried out to take macro-guidance(education activities)integrated with micro guidance(personal behavior modification) in order to train students’ peer respecting habits.The author hopes it can provide the theoretical basis and practical basis for the implement of respect education in primary school.Specifically, this paper consists of eight parts:The first part mainly introduces the origin,significance, literature sum-up and the research method of this topic.The second part is the definition of core concepts;The third part main introduces the theories of this researchThe fourth part is the investigation of the first grade students respect the peer, found that pupils’ cognition and behavior is disjointed; their behavior has gender characteristics. Girls respect peer behavior better than boys. There is no obvious difference in respect of peer behavior between singleton and multiple children. The author analyze the factors of children’s respecting behaviors: teacher-student relationship, family and environmental factors and student’s physical characteristics.The fifth part is the first-round action research to train students to respect fellow, according to five-step behavioral training: raise awareness, clear norms, behavioral training, timely evaluation and formation of a atmosphere.The sixth part is the second round of action research to training the student’s respect peer behavior habits. Adjust the research problems on the first round of action. Theme activities taken to strengthen awareness, optimization methods, parents role model of good measures to consolidate student behavior, improve the effectiveness of education.The seventh part is to carry out individual education to correct the bad behavior of students. Finally carries on the summary of the research.The last part comes to the following conclusions:1. Five-step training method is suitable for students to cultivate the habit of peer respecting, but it is a spiraling cycle rather than a one-way method.2. Model demonstration method integrated with evaluation strengthening method is effective on maintaining the sustainable development of students’ positive behaviors. In the whole strengthening process, stimuli are ordered as follows: material rewards- spiritual rewards revoke reward. Namely, in early strengthening some material rewards are used,as time goes on more attentions are paid to spiritual awards and reward is revoked when students have shaped peer respecting behavior habits.3. In order to improve action effectiveness, parents should been assigned a clear requirement and given method guidance to keep step with school, otherwise the school-family collaboration will be a mere formality.4. Correcting students’ bad behavior must go through three stages : behavior is difficult to control, observational learning stage and blind conformity stage.
