With the continuous reform of new curriculum and the education system in China, social competition is becoming increasingly fierce, the cultivation of students’ creativity become the requirements of the new curriculum standard. So far from the end of the twentieth Century, the quality of education in the process of advancing, more and more a person with breadth of vision to understand the unique role of art education in art education in the aspects of improving and perfecting the unique quality of the whole people. Therefore, the national quality education conference proposed to cultivate innovative consciousness and practice ability of the people. After art education included in the policy of compulsory education, art education has been unprecedented attention, ushered in new opportunities for development, has entered an important period of development. The urgent need to improve in this period is not ignored a fact that the creativity of teachers and students. At the same time, we should also see that the stage of compulsory education in China’s art education and can’t adapt to the requirements of quality education places, such as the content of the good traditional Chinese mode of thinking of contempt in the art education; too much emphasis on academic center; inadequate curriculum comprehensiveness and diversity; have to focus on the art of professional knowledge and skills; from the students’ life experiences to a certain extent, to inspire students’ learning interest and passion for creation, and did not fully consider the difference between urban and rural areas, areas, national conditions. This affects the full play to the students development of creativity and art education function, restricting the development of China’s basic education stage art with Chinese characteristics modern art quality-oriented education.In this paper, in order to cultivate middle school students’ creativity in teaching art as a subject, in art education at the present stage principle, teaching pattern and teaching method are analyzed and described the current students’ creative ability training of related problems, such as change, the Chinese traditional way of thinking and way of thinking when the generation of the creativity of the definition and performance and creativity secondary art education and training in the absence of dialectical, finally by the new curriculum standard for the cultivation of students’ creativity is discussed, from the construction of cultivation of students’ creative environment, the use of reverse thinking, middle school students’ personality shaping, creative teaching, pay attention to art appreciation teaching, creative activities and develop creative thinking training several aspects of the fine arts teaching of middle school students’ creativity training strategies are discussed.
