"Competency" was first brought out by McClelland in 1973, it was defined as knowledge, skills, abilities or motivation directly related to work and performance. Since then, international and domestic academics put great enthusiasm in studies on Competency. The concept of Competency and its method application was extensive for the value in human resource management. With the development of research on Competency, Chandler and Hanks firstly bring it to the field of entrepreneurship in 1993. They believe entrepreneurship competency is the abilities to recognize, predict and taking advantages of opportunities, moreover, it would be continuously strengthened when entrepreneurs get more and more familiar with the market.More and more college students take part in entrepreneurship, however, college entrepreneurship ratio (the ratio between college graduates and Undergraduates who take parts in entrepreneurship and the employed) and success rate is still low relative to developed countries, the causes of low college entrepreneurship ratio and success rate would be various but low competency is found as fundamentals through analyses. To help strengthen the abilities and train the qualities which are required for entrepreneurship, we should find out what kind of competency is required and gradually improve its entrepreneurship success rate. Therefore, this research takes college students from Guilin, Guangxi province as object, firstly collets data through survey and investigation, then analyze and process the collected date using SPSS and AMOS to study college students’entrepreneurship competency and concludes related solutions.This research falls to five parts as follows:Chapter 1:The introduction. This chapter mainly introduces the selected topic background, research purposes, research approach, content structure as well as the possible innovation.Chapter 2:literature review. This chapter firstly expounds definitions of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs, competency and competency model, and introduces the classification of competency and building method and building process of competency model, and in the end review related literature.Chapter 3:Theory model building of entrepreneurship competency and testing of the model. This chapter firstly introduce building procedure for competency model, and put forward the hypothesis of this study. Then through literature study method, behavioral event interview method and expert panel discussion to preliminarily determine the college students’ entrepreneurial competence characteristics index, according to preliminary determined college students’ entrepreneurial competence characteristics index to compiled the questionnaire "college students entrepreneurial competence characteristics", and send questionnaire to college students who has already startup or with intention to entrepreneur, and then analysis and process the result using SPSS and AMOS. Finally, according to the results of the analysis to determine college students competence characteristics, and determine the weights of each characteristics.Chapter 4:The evaluation of the college students’ entrepreneurial competence characteristics influence factors. This chapter discusses five influence factors(gender, age, education, and major) on college students’ entrepreneurial competence characteristics.Chapter 5:conclusion and prospect. This study was summarized in this chapter, according to the results of the empirical study from the college students themselves, schools and government were put forward according to the three main body of some strategies to improve college students’ entrepreneurial competence, and aimed at the deficiency of this article, put forward the future research on college students’ entrepreneurial competence in the future.This article according to theoretical analyses and research concludes the following:1. college students entrepreneurial competency model includes the following five indicators:concept ability, opportunity ability, organization ability and success oriented and innovation spirit, and t determined the weight of each indicators, its importance in sequence:opportunity, concepts, ability, organization ability, innovative spirit, achievement orientation.2. Gender, level of education and the professional these three factors influence on college students’ entrepreneurial competence characteristics are not significant, and the factor of age on college students’ entrepreneurial competence characteristics exists certain differences.
