With the development of economy and society, the country’s increasing demand for talent, in order to continue to enter the country for various types of personnel, major universities continue enrollment, college team has grown, there have been obstacles to college freshmen adapt to college life when, generated a lot of questions: life can not take care of themselves, the poor state of learning, schools, professional are not favored, no direction in life and so on. Minority college students as college students in a particular group, they will not encounter these problems encountered by ordinary college students, will encounter language barriers, geographical and cultural differences, personality differences, poor interpersonal relationships and other issues. These problems not only got the attention of the school, but also caused widespread concern in the community. However, due to the level and the level of economic development of China’s social development is relatively low, China’s freshmen education also generally stay in the traditional mode: the Counseling Center by teachers, general education for freshmen, the effect is minimal, schools for students in psychological adjustment, emotional management and career planning is not enough emphasis, unfounded development and social progress of the times, were advancing innovation. The author believes that college freshmen student management and education has great space for development and growth, the need to constantly improve and innovate, in-depth study of minority freshmen adapt education that has theoretical significance but also has practical significance.In this paper, the concept of social work values as a guide, professional theory as the support, group work methods as a means of in-depth study of minority freshmen adjustment problems.
