With the continuous development and application of multimedia technology in teaching, modes and methods of instruction have changed with better application of information technology and better control of teaching process. The key issue at present is how to teach in a better and more efficient way. An improved design of learning environment is a good way of increasing the effective use of technology in that a better learning environment can spark the interest of learners. The constructive learning environment design with a focus on learning experiences aims to improve students’ learning experiences by constructing a learning environment to promote their higher order thinking ability.Firstly, this paper reviews the Constructivism Learning Theory and theories of learning environment design, and it sorts out the relevant research on learning experience to emphasize its importance to constructive learning environment design. Then, 20 cases of biology classes are selected from the quality class competition and are analyzed to find out the current teaching problems as well as their causes and influences. And then, the strategies of constructive learning environment design focused on learning experiences are proposed based on the analysis of the problems. Finally, a junior high school biology curriculum case on ecosystem is designed and evaluated. This paper aims to solve the ill-defined problems in junior high school biology classes and improve the learning experience guided by the Constructivism Learning Theory. With the aim of developing the higher order thinking ability and enriching the life of learners, this paper proposes the strategies of constructive learning environment design focused on learning experiences to promote the development of teaching.This paper draws the conclusion based on the above research as follows:The constructive learning environment design focused on learning experiences centers on improving students’ learning experiences to develop their higher order thinking ability by solving the ill-defined problems and constructing a better learning environment.The strategies of the constructive learning environment design focused on learning experiences include to set clear learning goals, to identify the problems in learning, to treat learning as an exploratory mission, and to customize the technology to satisfy respective needs.
