Five thousand years of Chinese civilizations have a splendid traditional culture, which has a long history and it is broad and profound,it is the eternal spiritual driving force for the Chinese nation to meet the challenges, forge ahead and innovate constantly. Today with the economic globalization and pluralistic cultural development, the Chinese nation’s outstanding traditional culture still has important theoretical value and practical significance."The Outline of Basic Education Curriculum Reform(Trial Implementation)" points out: " to make the students have the spirit of patriotism, collectivism, love socialism, to inherit and carry forward the excellent tradition and the revolutionary tradition of the Chinese nation." ① Based on this idea, PEP senior politics textbook separately presents "traditional culture" in the book of “Cultural Life “,which shows the country attaches great importance to the study of excellent traditional culture of the youth,but also means that senior politics teachers bear a heavier responsibility for spreading splendid traditional culture.Therefore, it has become more and more important and urgent for senior politics teachers to explore the root and excavate the essence of the excellent traditional culture by the lesson of "cultural seeking-roots".However, in the current teaching and education of senior high school, due to the influence of the college entrance examination, schools and parents pay more attention to students’ practical skills, it seems that excellent traditional culture education is unimportant. School and society evaluation of teachers is one-sided to "scores", forcing the teachers in the education teaching process to pay more attention to the interpretation of knowledge and examination skills training, so that the senior politics teachers are lack of the research and exploration enthusiasm of the Chinese excellent traditional culture and become the "illiteracy" of the outstanding traditional culture education. Senior High School students are the future and hope of our motherland, but they are addicted to western culture, "knowing nothing at all" about Chinese traditional culture.It is the so-called "The young ares strong, a country is strong".So, today with the more serious invasion of Western culture,how do senior politics teachers to take heavy responsibility to nurture the young generation and to disseminate excellent traditional culture? Therefore, the first thing for them to do is to improve their own literacy of excellent traditional culture.In recent years,the phenomenon of "Craze for Traditional Chinese Culture " and "Culture Craze" are prevalent, the personages of various circles of society pay more and more attention and concern our excellent traditional culture and education.In a situation like this, should the senior politics teachers catch the train or keep out of the affair? In the political education and teaching of senior high school, teachers play an important role. The excellent traditional culture can purify the soul of teachers, cannot only improve their spiritual realm, but also it can fully arouse their sense of mission and responsibility.Therefore, senior politics teachers must catch this train, also drive this train, lead the students to learn and carry forward the excellent traditional culture of our country.After the investigation and analysis of present traditional culture literacy condition of fifty senior politics teachers in five different senior high schools in Luoyang city, it analyzes the reasons of causing the current status, and focuses on probing the value of “cultural seeking-roots”of senior politics teachers,combines with the textbook content of ”Cultural Life” from the three aspects of the country,teachers and students, takes into the teaching cases and comprehensively reflects the real teacher learning effect brought by the excellent traditional culture. Finally, it explores the effective ways to the cultural seeking-roots of senior politics teachers with practice, and provides a feasible method for senior politics teachers to improve their literacy of traditional culture.
