In the elderly, retired city changes in the elderly is more prominent. When they retire from work, suddenly to leave their familiar environment, the original living habits are broken, become confused. In particular they were busy and fulfilling life suddenly becomes idle, even can cause anYiety, depression, irritable old people and other negative emotions. While some of the elderly can not be self regulating emotions, their bad situation to change, even appear self enclosed, refused to take the initiative to communicate with the outside world, participate in social activities. Retirement does not mean that the old people should withdraw from the society, fully and completely give up social activities. The average life span of people between the ages of 75 to 80 years, while China’s retirement age between 55 to 60 years old. After retirement, he will spend decades of life, retirement should not mean the end, but a new start in life. This paper selected early in the organs and units of retired old people as the object of study, the activity theory of Robert Harvey Guest and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory as the guide, using the method of questionnaire investigation on the social adaptation ability is studied, the difficulties are analyzed, and the team members set up confidence, enhance the cognition of self role by group methods of work, so as to improve the ability to adapt to the target group work group members of society, so that the elderly can be from two aspects of psychological and physiological fully adapt to life after retirement, retirement. In terms of academic research in the past, the elderly population has basically is based on psychology, sociology and other fields as a starting point, research on issues related to social work from the perspective of the elderly population is not so much.
