Mobile phone has closely connected with people’s daily life. Existing research generally believed that cell phone does more harm than good for college students, and the negative impacts contains five aspects:breaks normal study time, reduces social skills, decline in positive thinking, cell phone entertainment-oriented and does harm to health.etc. The academic circles tend to pay more attention on study its negative effect of college students’ use of mobile phones but often ignored the development law of new things. Face with rapid advancement in technology, change mind and embrace progress should be the direction we strive for. In order to verify college students’ mobile phone dependence is as stated by academic circles, authentically understand how the college students in Guangxi use mobile media and their dependence status. By sending 300 questionnaires to four university students in Guangxi, this in-depth investigation shows that college students’ mobile phone possess rate has reached to 100%, mobile phone plays an important role in college students’daily life. Main reasons for the college students’ cell phone use and dependence usually contains:psychological need, loneliness, group psychology, psychological dependence. etc. Mobile phone dependence phenomenon does exist among college students’ group, but unlikely to be considered as addiction. For most college students, mobile phone media’s continuous improvement has brought certain positive influence both to their study and daily life. As long as college students possess self-management capability, schools, government and the media function as their role. By series of intervening measures to help college students to develop correct and rational mobile media use habit, mobile phones would be a great help for college students’talent.
