Primary school music education, as the most fundamental and critical stage in the whole music education, is the most effective period for children to study music. Singing teaching is the most basic content in primary school music education, and is also the most acceptable way for students to willingly participate in the music teaching. The new curriculum standards put forward higher requirements on the singing teaching, therefore music teacher need to further explore on classroom teaching mode.In twentieth Century, Kodaly teaching method is one of the most influential music education methods in the world. Throughout many years’ application and development, it has produced significant influence in the world. Kodaly teaching method summarizes the famous Hungarian composer music educator –Mr. Zoltan Kodak I’s thought of music education, teaching means and method and so on, which has the guiding significance for the primary school music education. Since the end of twentieth Century, the Kodaly teaching method was introduced to China, but its effects in practical application was not obvious.Kodaly teaching method is a kind of comprehensive and extensive use of music teaching method. It is built on the basis of practice, fully absorbs the essence of previous teaching practice, maintains an orderly height; and conforms to the laws of the development of children. The goal of the Kodaly teaching method is to help children have interest in music in the process of growing up, and get the sustainable development ability in music.The author will make a depth study of Kodaly music teaching system, have an investigation of the present situation of singing class at primary schools in Xinxiang City, and finally put forward a series of suggestions and measures on the implementation of Kodaly music teaching method in primary school music education, and find the most suitable method. At the same time, the author hopes that this study can play a positive role for the promotion and application of Kodaly teaching method in music education at Chinese primary schools.
