21st century is an era that emphasizes people’s reading ability, large enough to promote social progress of science and technology, small to participate in daily production and life has the figure of reading ability. Because of the rapid physical and mental development of junior middle school students, it is very important in developing the good reading habits in their life during the junior middle school stage. However, the problem is that the cultivation of junior middle school students’ reading ability into the error only made by Chinese or English discipline to complete, in fact, reading ability as a comprehensive cognitive ability to observe or think about the information extracted from the materials and integrated itself into their own cognitive structure, have important implications for students’learning. Chemistry as a science discipline with certain particularities, also appears to be very important in the cultivation of students’ reading ability.The selected topic through the two perspectives of cognitive psychology and this concept’s analysis from domestic and foreign to elaborate the connotation and denotation of reading ability, and combining the particularity of chemistry to define the chemistry reading ability. With a variety of learning theories as the foundation, with teachers’ opinions as guide, through the issuance of student questionnaires, this paper design a model of "reading before class-reading in the class-reading combine class with extracurricular" and then combined with the development of the physical and mental characteristics of junior middle school students, puts forward the cultivation chemistry teaching measures of reading ability, to help achieve the goal to cultivate the student’s chemistry reading ability skillfully.
