Wang Li was a famous linguist and educationalist. He not only had made a great success in the research on Chinese grammar, but also had his own unique views on Chinese teaching in middle school. What’s more, Wang Li was also good at combining his academic research and Chinese teaching in middle school, and formed his own education thought on Chinese.In this paper, Wang Li’s thought about grammar of Chinese teaching in middle school was analyzed in depth in the aspect of Chinese teaching purpose, teaching method and the view of Chinese teachers. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly introduces the object, present situation and the purpose of the study. The second chapter explains the background of Wang Li’s thought about Chinese education from two aspects which are personal educational background and influence of the domestic education reform. The formation of Wang Li’s thought on Chinese education depends on his deep understanding in the academic and early experiences of teaching in the middle and University. Promoted by the domestic education reform, Wang Li also took part in the practice of educational reform and made great contribution to the reform of Chinese education. The third chapter is the main body and the core of this paper; in this chapter, Wang Li’s thought about grammar of Chinese teaching in middle school is introduced in detail from three parts including the view of material, the view of grammar teaching and the view of the teachers in grammar teaching. The view of grammar teaching is the focus in this chapter. Combining with the situation of grammar teaching in middle school, Wang Li came up with the corresponding strategies of grammar teaching. For example, teaching words before sentences; combining with the rhetoric and logic teaching; teaching grammar in the fixed time; give an example combining with the text; practice and review; Combining with the writing to explain; increasing students’interest of the grammar learning and so on. The fourth chapter is about the inspiration of Wang Li’s thoughts on the contemporary grammar teaching. This chapter is the significance of the paper, including three parts which are the inspiration of contemporary Chinese education obtained from the view of material, the view of teaching and the view of the teachers in grammar teaching. The fifth chapter is the conclusion part, summarizing the main content of the article.This paper introduces Wang Li’s thought about the grammar of Chinese teaching. While, combining with the situation of grammar teaching in middle school, the valuable experience of Wang Li’s grammar teaching is explained. On the one hand this paper is to reveal the value of Wang Li’s grammar teaching in middle school; on the other hand this paper is to discover the valuable experience of Wang Li’s grammar teaching to apply to the grammar teaching in the present.
