With the reform of higher education in China, the independent college, including Business College of Shanxi University, is such product of this era. For independent college, teaching staff is crucial for college survival, development and growth. Nowadays, colleges and universities in China, especially the independent college, the loss of teachers is the common phenomenon, but the loss of many teachers will directly affect the quality of the universities’ teaching and the level of scientific research, which restricts the development of universities. In this context, colleges and universities including Business College of Shanxi University are keen to solve the problem that how to retain talent teaching staff and reduce wastage rate.This article first introduces the status of the independent colleges’ development in China and expounds the meaning of researching the reasons and countermeasures of the loss of teaching staff in Business College of Shanxi University. Based on the theory of hierarchy of needs and expectations, this paper then constructs the theoretical system of researching, defines the connotation of loss of teachers in independent college by drawing lessons from the connotation of staff turnover. Next, this article analyzes teachers’ management in Business College of Shanxi University, including the current structure of teaching staff and management culture, summarizes the characteristics of teacher flowing. Based on questionnaire survey, supplemented with literature research and interview method, this article finds out that the main reasons of the teacher’s flowing are the limited teacher’s development space, the lack of salary welfare system, strong sense of belonging, ideal scientific research environment, reasonable teacher appraisal system and good campus culture construction. Aiming at above reasons, this article puts forward some suggestions of dealing with the loss of teaching staff, in order to reduce the teaching staff’s wastage rate in Business College of Shanxi University, and promote the growth and expansion of the college.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is introduction, mainly introduces the research background, research significance, research content and framework, research ideas and methods.The second chapter is the theoretical foundation and literature review theoretical foundation introduces related theory of brain drain such as connotation, the concept and statistics of brain drain and theory of hierarchy of needs and expectations. And the chapter defines the definition of independent college and its type. Literature review of related research status at home and abroad are introduced.The third chapter analyzes the situation of teacher’s flow in Business College of Shanxi University. On the basis of introducing management on the basis of the teachers’ management condition of Business College of Shanxi University, this paper analyzes the characteristics of brain drain. In addition, the author analyzes the reasons of the flow of the college teachers and the impact on the college through the questionnaire investigation and interview method to.The fourth chapter puts forward the corresponding countermeasures in view of the analysis about the reasons of the teachers’ flow in Business College of Shanxi University in the third chapter.The fifth chapter makes conclusion and prospect to the research of the full text.
