Elementary education new curriculum reform occupies an important position in promoting national scientific and technological innovation and economic development and the talent reserves.Therefore,from the national to the local governments at various levels have attached great importance to primary and secondary school curriculum reform and development. However, how did primary and secondary school mathematics curriculum standard put into effect? and this is the important issue the current social people from all walks of life focus on. The paper chose “The study on Junior high school mathematics teaching status quo of henan province under new curriculum” as the research object since the compulsory education mathematics curriculum standards(2011 edition) was issued. The focus is on how the new curriculum standard put into effect in henan province, especially the teachers’ teaching and students’ learning situation,etc. This is not only beneficial to promote the effective implementation of the junior middle school mathematics curriculum reform and the development of henan province, but also has important theoretical meaning and realistic meaning for the improvement of the elementary education quality and the future curriculum reform and development in our country.Firstly, This paper summarized representative point of views and reviewed these points through the analysis of the existing literature about junior middle school mathematics teaching at home and abroad from teaching methods, students’ learning style, the information technology to the history of mathematics and mathematics curriculum integration and so on.And it found that these studies focus on the more qualitative research and reviews research, lacking of quantitative investigation statistics and the overall study.Especially it has been a blank about the study of junior middle school mathematics teaching status quo of henan province since the new curriculum reform. Secondly, I investigated and interviewed parts of students and teachers of 20 middle schools of five regions of henan province combining with the interview outline from two dimensions of students and teachers through the questionnaires.From the eight aspects: the basic situation of teachers, teaching situation, the new curriculum training situation, the understanding and implementation of the new Curriculum standard, the use of information technology, teaching materials,teaching methods, teachers’ professional study, I studied the current teachers’ teaching situation;From this seven aspects: the student’s basic situation, the students’ learning psychology, test and operation, teaching and counselling materials, the use of information technology, learning attitude and methods, learning burden, I studied the student’s learning status quo.From the results of the survey analysis, the junior middle school mathematics teachers in henan province have more firm faith,are serious and responsible for the work and most of the teachers have the opportunity to participate in the new curriculum training, the teaching ideas changed, the professional level is generally improved, the countryside junior middle school mathematics teacher’s teaching method is still lag behind and old, some teachers class burden is heavier compared with the city.Most junior high school students are interested in learning mathematics, but more students have learning pressure as a result of the examination, grade 7 and 8 students’ learning is relatively easy, grade 9students feel schoolwork burden is heavier.The countryside junior middle school students’ learning style change is not big, students in city junior high school have a dramatic change in learning style.The hardware facilities of urban school are generally better than rural areas, urban students’ average math scores are higher than the countryside.Finally, I put forward to some thinking and Suggestions in order to promote the junior middle school mathematics teaching quality in henan province under the background of new curriculum reform:(1)be positive to use modern education information technology;(2) to create and establish a harmonious relationship between teachers and students;(3) stimulate interest in learning, cultivate self-learning ability;(4)focus on students’ individual differences, to form a cooperative learning group;(5) improve student assessment methods and teachers’ appraisal system.
