Objective:The 21st century is the era of knowledge economy rapid development of information, comprehensive national competition in the world, the talent competition to some extent, can be said to be competitive education. However, the development of education teacher-oriented. Primary and secondary school teachers teaching football is an important part of basic education school football, soccer the level of professional competence of teachers is very important, especially in the new era of football activities on campus football ability and quality of teachers put forward higher requirements. For these reasons, targeted to improve primary and secondary school physical education teachers professional competence is imperative. Through the investigation, Jiangsu Province, to carry out campus football activities, primary, summed for new teachers’ professional football ability requirements, and then compare this stage training model of physical education teachers in professional football, to find out the actual status of the training needs and gaps, which made some countermeasures and suggestions, hoping to improve Jiangsu College of Physical Education Major students specialized in professional football ability to provide a little theoretical basis and reference.In this paper, the use of literature, questionnaires, interviews, statistics and other research methods, mainly carried out in Jiangsu Province, head coaches and sports activities in the school campus football investigate, identify teachers’ professional competence on the football stage requirements. Physical Education and through surveys of professional football in Jiangsu Province elective course objectives, course content, teaching methods, evaluation and etc, depth comparative study and analysis, the following conclusions. Results:1. The training objectives of Physical Education, Jiangsu Province, specialized course in professional football is to develop grassroots football in the teacher-centered, more value to improve student skill levels. Specialized classes for football training students’comprehensive practical ability is relatively weak, teaching students skills and training capabilities football investment is not enough, is not conducive to the development of students.2. Jiangsu Province, specialized theory Physical Education lesson though occupy a certain proportion of the teaching program, but most teachers do not have the actual theoretical lesson plans in accordance with the teaching of teaching, teachers and students are not enough emphasis on theory course.3. Jiangsu Province, College Sports Professional Football tertiary education students choose teaching ability ubiquitous football and soccer training relatively weak phenomenon. In the course of the learning process of teaching and the organization does not conduct football training football training practical, relatively few opportunities to participate in practice. Organizational activity and lack of research capacity, with the knowledge of the general physical health care, but the lack of practice tests, the overall quality is not high.4. The Physical Education Major of Jiangsu Province on student professional development pathway is relatively simple, there is no organic connection and interaction mechanisms established personnel training and social needs. Another opportunity for students to participate in teaching practice is relatively small, is not conducive to the development of students’practical abilities.5. From professional football in college physical education teachers in Jiangsu Province elective situation, the teacher’s age structure and relatively reasonable titles, education is relatively high, rich teaching experience. But there are rigid teaching methods and teaching form a single issue, relatively few ways for students to develop professional competence. Examination content is relatively fixed, inflexible and assessment methods, there are too subjective appraisal of the problem, not fully reflect the students’ comprehensive ability.
