Within the context of the new reform of the fundamental education curriculum in Guangxi province since the September 2012, the course of General Technology has become the focus in our research. Classroom teaching is critical to the success of the reform of the curriculum. However, the gap between the educational objectives of the curriculum standards and the factual effective in the curriculum implementation has generated because of the shortage of course source and the inferior quality of the teaching staff in this comparatively new subject. This standards-based instruction design of General Technology Course is designed to enhance the teachers’ understanding and application consciousness of file course and also emphasizes the teachers’ teaching rights given by the curriculum standards for independent innovation, which will be conducive to narrowing the gap between the actual teachers’ teaching and curriculum standard. This article with the perspective which is advantageous to reference for the first-line teachers mainly discusses the three key questions:firstly, specific to the general technical subjects, what is the model of this standards-based instruction design of General Technology Course? Secondly, how to effectively implement this standards-based instruction design of General Technology Course? Thirdly, what is the effect after the teaching practice of the standards-based instruction design of General Technology Course?On the basis of related theory research and teaching practice, this study proposes a mode for the standards-based instruction design of General Technology Course. First of all, teachers should understand the value and objectives of technology education curriculum standards when they are trying to find teaching materials. Secondly, teachers should analyze the education value about the teaching materials, make a comparison with the content of the curriculum standards and then select the relevant clauses from the curriculum standards. Thirdly, teachers should define and build the teaching goals according to the relevant clauses selected from the curriculum standards. Fourthly, teachers should make a preliminary plan about the evaluation methods according to the curriculum standards suggestions and related theoretical researches. Fifthly, teachers should make the teaching programs and do the class teaching practice. Finally, teachers should evaluate the teaching effect with the reflection on the feedback."Producing Creative Display Shelf" is a good teaching case. In the case we make an application, analysis and reflection on the teaching mode which is put forward above. It is worth mentioning that this study draws on the two dimensions framework of the revised Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives which is proposed by American educators, Lorin W. Anderson etc. When we build the educational objectives and make sure the coherence between the educational objectives, the teaching activities and assessing, the two dimensions classification framework can better promote teachers’ability of standards-based instruction design. This study also reflects on the teaching case, summarizing the achievements. The results show that the students’technological literacy has been improved in a certain degree, with changes in those objectives of the knowledge and skills, process and methods, attitude and value.Based on the above theoretical analysis and empirical research, this paper draw some conclusions:1. the general technology teachers can do a certain degree of innovation through standards-based instruction design.2. The general technology teachers should make the standards-based instruction design according to the characteristics of general technology curriculum.3. With the aid of two-dimensional classification framework, the general technology teachers can improve the quality of the instruction design, enhancing the subject consciousness of the teachers.4. The standards-based instruction design is achieving the three-dimensional objectives of the curriculum.
