Despite poetry teaching in China has a long history, until now, the poetry teaching design is not scientific enough:the designing procedure too arbitrary, the curriculum standards ignored and the instructional objectives too vague to guide the teaching process. By applying Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives into poetry teaching objective design, this study proposes a design method of instructional objectives on ancient poems,which aims to provide a valuable reference for teachers to design standard-based and clearly stated instructional objectives.Using Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives to design standard-based instructional objectives generally included three steps:first, classifying school-stage objectives set in curriculum standard by inferences based on Bloom’s taxonomy framework; then, extracting proper instructional objectives from the classification outcome according to the poetry’s content and features; third, defining and stating instructional objectives clearly by using objective statement techniques. Although theoretically,the method includes these three steps, but when introducing the designing method, this study combine the latter two steps into one and describe the two steps with theoretical explanation and some illustrative examples.This study can be separated into three parts’, in introduction part,it introduces the origin,the central questions, the study threads and methods,and the structure of the thesis; in the body part,it contains a literature review, a introduction of Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives,the explanation of the method for designing instructional objectives of ancient poetry, a research about the designing methods, and a summary and outlook;finally,there is a questionnaire belongs to the Appendix part. In these sections,the explanation of the method for designing instructional objectives and the research about this method would be this study’s main focuses.
