A Study On Sustainable Development Of Independent Colleges

The independent college in the history of China’s development is not long, as a part of the development of higher education reform in China, the very rapid development momentum, has become an indispensable force in China’s higher education system, for China’s higher education from elite education to mass education has made an important contribution to the transformation of education. In the booming at the same time, there are many factors that restrict the sustainable development of the independent college.This paper take the sustainable development as the premise, the first clear the sustainable development of the independent colleges should do:business, legal compliance, and the coordination of running party relationship orientation of running a favorable, appropriate scale, social identity, effective organization; and then through the literature search, found that the independent college in the above six aspects, there are five aspects display problems.In the aspect of legal operation, independent colleges can not "independent"; relationship with the school party is unclear property rights, investment "reasonable return" way to obtain the unknown; school location, location, presence absence of improper positioning of the phenomenon; social recognition, graduate employment situation is grim; organization management, organization the effectiveness of the urgent need to improve. On the scale of running school, the author has not find the information in this regard, the factors of concern, temporarily shelved. Through the analysis, this paper argues that the reasons for the independent college above problems respectively is:relying on the independent college has certain rationality, some "independent" phenomenon is caused by the regulations; independent college unable to straighten out and running the interests of all parties entangled, causing the deviation source in the industrialization of Education under the background of the ideas of running school orientation deletion; or improper phenomenon is due to the school location is not understanding, orientation of running a school is not followed by environmental changes timely adjust bring; social identity of the independent college should improve the reason lies in the lack of competitive talent cultivation mode; organizational effectiveness needs to be improved because the management concept and management method is not adapted to the management of independent college. Finally, this article on the above problems, propose solutions to the countermeasures to solve them one by one, respectively is:the sharing of resources, improve the corporate governance structure, improve the laws and regulations; public welfare, clear distinction between assets of independent college, revised regulations, creatively put forward to solve the property right problem of independent college by way of rental, the abolition of the "reasonable return", to eliminate the contradiction of public welfare and for-profit independent college; puts forward the theoretical guidance of marketing orientation, location follows strategy; innovative personnel training mode, set up professional interlocking social demand, closely the talent training goal planning of teaching, student-centered, provide even creating space for individual development to students; update management idea and method, construction the Independent Institute for the development requirements of the internal management system from reality, puts forward a comprehensive quality assurance system to ensure that the independent college internal control effectively.In this paper, but the use of the existing literature search to identify problems, not on the independent college comprehensive observation, plus the subjective awareness and capacity constraints, this paper points out the problems may exist certain deviation of the actual situation and the development of independent college, analyses the causes of the problem may not be comprehensive, thorough, proposed countermeasures may not necessarily effective.
