Cheerleading, as a new project, has undergone rapid development in our country. At present, in terms of training and constructing cheerleading, coaches lay more emphasis on the improvement of technical skills than on team collaboration and management. Using expert interview, literature review, questionnaire survey, and mathematical statistics, this study analyses the relevant factors influencing the cheerleading teamwork, and the current development of cheerleading in China. On this basis, a set of team-building methods for cheerleading were put forward from the perspective of teamwork, with the aim to unify the goals of individuals and the team as a whole, secure optimal exchanges and cooperation between members, and achieve complete and rational composition of the team, thus forming a positive, lively, intimate, and cooperative team atmosphere to promote cheerleading training efficiency and give full play to the advantages of the cheerleading team. Findings of the study were as follows:1、 Through field survey, 8 tentative related factors affecting cheerleading teamwork were selected, including team goals, team stability, team leadership(coach), personal factors, team communication, team atmosphere, team norms, roles in a team;2、After simplifying the eight factors via factor analysis, four factors emerged, namely: team target factor, team environment factor, team behavior factor and team composition factor.Team behavior factor had the highest loading, with a contribution rate at 27.524%, which was in turn followed by team composition factor, team environment factor and team goals factor;3 、 Team behavior factor refers to communication between players, division of labor,interaction and constraints. Team composition was mainly manifested in the well-formed and stably structured team under the leadership of the coach. Team environment is a soft environment gradually formed through constant communication and interaction among the players in a team. Team goal is the premise of teamwork and an aimless team is blind.4 、 A survey on the status quo of China’s cheerleading team collaboration development revealed that member communication, interaction and training atmosphere were good.However, guidance based on theoretical knowledge was lacking in team norms, team goal setting and management of coaches, leading to unsystematicity and poor knowledge learning atmosphere.5、As for team building, concrete and measurable goals should be set up for cheerleading. At the same time, emphasis should be laid on heterogeneity of team members to ensure reasonable division of labor and the structural stability of the whole team. In additon, coaches should further strengthen their personal competence. The team behavior should be more collaborative and standardized so as to cultivate a harmonious, democratic, and positive team atmosphere.
