In May 2013, Shanghai Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee have carried on the research about working experience on ethnic education of primary and secondary schools in Shanghai. The survey shows that there are two junior high schools for 849 Tibetan students and four scattered classes of high schools for 427 Tibetan students in Shanghai. As the enrollment expansion of ethnic class in mainland middle school, the number of student, class and school is showing a trend of increasing, the ethnic class in high school inland class work has become the current focus of Shanghai ethnic education of junior and senior schools.For more than 20 years, the inland Tibetan classes scale expands unceasingly, its level and benefit increase completely. It plays an important role in personnel training, cultural exchange, the unity of the nationalities promotion and education mechanism innovation. However, many research oriented on pedagogy, psychology and ethnology mainly are concentrated on education practices such as specific subject teaching, moral education management, and so that there is little effective suggestions on improving intercultural adaptation ability for Tibetan class students from communication research taken cultural adaptation as the incision. Therefore this study enriches and expands the research connotation and path in the field of cross-cultural communication. Not only it can understand cultural adaptation status and problems of Tibetan students in Shanghai, but also produce an important demonstration effect on cultivation of talent with cross-cultural adaptation ability for the ethnic class (school).Through intensive observation on Shanghai Gongkang School students, interview and questionnaire, the study describe the status quo and problems of the acculturation. And based on the analysis of the reasons it put forward some feasible suggestions for the Tibetan students to improve the cultural adaptability.This paper firstly introduces the research background, purpose and meaning, the research angle, theory and contents, as well as the research methods, steps and innovation.The second chapter of this article expounds several important concepts about the culture, adaptation, cultural adaptation, the inland Tibetan classes and multicultural education. This part also sums up the previous studies and literatures.In chapter3, after briefly introduction of the Shanghai Gongkang High School, I descript Tibetan students’ acculturation situation from two aspects of psychological adaptation and social cultural adaptation using questionnaire data and material of interview, and analyze the traits of stage, influence factors and strategy mode of the acculturation.In this paper, the fourth chapter analyzes the problems and their internal and external reasons of the Tibetan students in the process of acculturation.According to the result of investigation and analysis, to help Tibetan students who are under the background of multicultural education to adapt to Chinese culture, the last part of the article puts forward several measures from the public level, organization level, interpersonal level and personal level.
