Research On Construction Of Cultural Soft Power For Local Universities

Cultural soft power of is crucial to the survival and development of a university.Thus, efforts to attain and enhance soft power, has become a current important task of China’s universities, especially local colleges. Influenced by both objective and subjective factors, there are many problems existing in Chinese local universities in ways of morality education, advancement of management, campus activities, shape and promotion of environment and academic culture, and use of schoolfellow culture. Consequently, it is imperative to strengthen the construction of cultural soft power.In this paper, through the analysis of theory of cultural soft power, thorough explanation of the connotation of soft power of culture, the content of culture construction of local colleges and universities tentatively refers to spirit culture, environmental culture, system culture and behavior culture construction. By analyzing the specific problems being faced in the construction of cultural soft power in the practice of local colleges and universities, it is proposed that to strengthen the construction of cultural soft power of local universities, we need to start from the spirit, system, behavior, academic, environmental, and schoolfellow culture. To summarize, refine and transmit the theory and characteristics of school management to enhance construction of spirit culture. To uplift teachers’ moral status, make full use of education system to strengthen the system culture construction. To guide students’ daily behavior, attach dual importance to teachers’ personal charm, and create unique activities to promote behavior culture construction. To strengthen the construction of academic culture through improvement in academic democracy, freedom, morality, responsibility, standardization and ecology. To improve environmental culture from the aspects of clearing campus environment, constructing practical facilities construction and creating a healthy network environment. To strengthen schoolfellow culture construction by integrating schoolfellow resources and enhancing school identity.This study offers guidance for the sustainable development of local colleges and universities, and seeking cooperation with many other universities. At the same time, it provides a reference for local universities to attain soft cultural power and force of development.
