The development of school-based curriculum is one of the priorities of the new round of reforms in China, and school-based curriculum can meet the different needs of different students. It emphasizes on the concept of people, it also vigorously promotes the professional development of teachers. In terms of this aspect, the development of school-based curriculum reflects the flexibility, diversity and difference of the curriculum. One important part of implementation of the English school-based curriculum is that educators are available for the rational development and utilization of curriculum resources, the so-called curriculum resources, in addition to teaching material, it also includes the hardware facilities during teaching and learning materials in school. Learning English is not only a wealth of knowledge that draws from within the classroom, but also from a variety of sources. In a variety of forms in English learning and application of knowledge, it will realize the profound perception of language using environment. Therefore, in the process of daily teaching, teachers should not only understand the teaching material scientifically, but also impart the system of knowledge, and more attentions should be paid to the utilization of other curriculum resources. This study is based on the theory of predecessors’ research results, which combined with the local school situation, taken the US drama as the main curriculum resources, analyzed the results of previous research synthetically, referenced to the basis of implementation of case that from successful English school-based curriculum in our country, the author generates the development and implementation purposes, the outline of course, and the teaching methods. From the school-based curriculum of US drama, it aims to explore the introduction of US show appreciation to school-based curriculum which is suitable for the study and using of English in No.18 middle school.This paper takes the second grade students from No.18 high school in Hohhot as the research subjects. By using questionnaire, interview and literature review as the research methods. The main problems of the study are as follows. The first question is what the students need in school-based curriculum under the background of new curriculum implementation; and the second one is to determine the target,the content, syllabus, and effective evaluation system of the school-based curriculum. eventually the author developed the American Drama for beginners of school-based curriculum. The result of the study shows that American Drama for beginners school-based curriculum can meet the students’learning needs, also can improve the teachers’professional development. School-based curriculum can promote the development of the special characteristics of the school running concepts.
