Learning-plan Guided Teaching is a teaching method which is based on learning plans and guided learning, and involves the cooperation between teachers and students in completing the teaching tasks. According to this method, teachers’ teaching plans are converted into students’ learning plans and teachers’ understanding of the curriculum is converted into students’ experience of the curriculum with new curricular concept teaching.At present, there are few researches with a view to Learning-plan Guided Teaching of English writing. The innovation of this thesis is that the current situation of Learning-plan Guided Teaching applied in English writing teaching has been investigated, so that it can be seen whether Learning-plan Guided Teaching is helpful to promote students’ interests and efficiency of English writing.Guided by Constructivism, Discovery Learning Approach, the Zone of Proximal Development and Humanistic Psychology as the theoretical basis and with a reference to the research findings at home and abroad, the writer conducted an investigation to find out whether Learning-plan Guided Teaching can help to promote students’ interest and efficiency of English writing. The subjects are first-year students who are chosen from No.2 Middle School of Changzhi in Shanxi Province. The instruments of the investigation are questionnaires and interviews. The research questions are:(1) Whether teachers apply Learning-plan Guided Teaching into Englishwriting class?(2) Whether students’ learning interest and initiative of writing will bearoused and greatly promoted with the help of Learning-plan GuidedTeaching?(3) Whether the efficiency of students’ English writing will be raisedgreatly?The data are analyzed with the help of SPSS 19.0. The conclusions are: teachers do apply Learning-plan Guided Teaching into English writing class; students’ learning interest and initiative of writing are aroused and promoted slightly with the help of Learning-plan Guided Teaching and the efficiency of students’ English writing are greatly improved. The study is of practical value to English writing teaching in the high school.
