English writing plays an indispensable role in English teaching and is considered as an essential part to show one's language competence.The current National Curriculum Standard for Common Senior High School puts forward that teachers should pay attention to cultivate students' communicative competence,which can be made by using writing in writing classes.Currently,the teacher-centered writing teaching situation is not satisfying.In this situation,students are lack of writing passion and some of them are even afraid of writing.As a result,most of the students have an exceedingly low writing competence.New teaching modes are in need to stimulate students' writing interest and improve their writing proficiency.The guided learning plan(GLP)teaching mode as a new teaching mode to teach English writing is studied in this paper.This paper aims to apply the GLP teaching mode to English writing teaching in senior high school to see whether students' writing interest is increased and students' writing ability is improved.Based on the constructive learning theory,humanistic theory,cognitive learning theory and zone of proximal development theory,this paper attempts to answer the following two research questions:1.Can the guided learning plan teaching mode stimulate students' learning interest in English writing in senior high school?2.Can the guided learning plan teaching mode improve students' English writing scores in senior high school?In order to find the answers of the questions posed above,a four-month experiment was carried out from September 2016 to January 2017.The participants of the experiment were 89 students of Kuang Senior High School in Anshan which were randomly selected from two parallel classes of Grade One.One class taught in guided learning plan teaching mode was chosen as experimental class and the other taught in traditional teaching mode was chosen as control class.In this experiment,instruments including questionnaires,tests and interview were employed.The SPSS 19.0 software was employed to analyze the data collected from questionnaires and tests.According to the experimental results,it can be safely drawn the conclusion that the guided learning plan teaching mode can stimulate senior high school students' interest of English writing and improve their scores of English writing.
