| Beauty is accompanied by ugliness, which exists objectively in our life.The appreciation of beauty and the appreciation of ugliness are a unity of opposites so the beautiful image and the ugly image should be paid equal attention to instead of ignoring either of them. But the traditional Chinese teaching preffers the beautiful image to the ugly image which is neglected over a long period of time. Beacause of this, the relative research of the esthetic education is wide and deep while the education on judging ugliness is always in a state of congental dysplasia and aquired weaknesses, wandering on tha margin of education.so the essay is mainly doing some researches on the ugly image teaching in middle school Chinese textbooks.From the perspective of aesthetics,the ugly image teaching in middle school Chinese textbooks is actually the education on judging ugliness. So it is necessary to be clear with a series of relative concepts about aesthetics.Chapter I sorts out the discussion about the ugly image teaching from the perspective of aesthetics including the differences and explanations among ugliness,life ugliness,artistic ugliness, appreciation of ugliness,education on judging ugliness,the ugly image,the ugly image teaching and so on.Beauty and ugliness from the aesthetics theory to the specific appreciation of beauty and appreciation of ugliness until the esthetic education and the education on judging ugliness in the teaching practices, which has built a bridge between the teaching theory and the teaching practices.Based on the defination of concept in Chapter I, Chapter II positions the objects of study as the ugly image in middle school Chinese textbooks and summarize and classify the abundant ugly images in middle school Chinese textbooks.
