According to the needs of China’s reform and development of higher professional education, professional education focuses on students’ overall quality and adaptability to future jobs and career needs. With the progress of the thorough reform, the teaching objective and task of medical chemistry is not only for "fundamental knowledge" nor for Specialized curriculum, but to reflect the basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills; logicality,scientificity, advancement, enlightenment and applicability; close to the students, close to the community and close to the post. The key to transform the teaching method under the new concept is the effective teaching.Following the rules and characteristics of professional education, I have explored the effective teaching in medical chemistry course. Specifically, I used the action-oriented learning theory, multiple intelligences theory as a guide, in view of the current professional education, curriculum, capacity concept, basic foundation and talent on the concept of education. Based on the survey from freshmen of five-year Nursing program of Ordos City Health School, I analyzed the current situation of students learning and further analyzed the factors affecting the effective teaching, such as students,teachers, teaching contents. Therefore I effectively explored Medical Chemistry teaching strategies, and a freshman class in the school has been practiced using "effective teaching".Through the study and practice of effective teaching in Medical chemistry for a calendar year, there are significant improvements in stimulating interest in learning, training of teamwork, learning efficiency and enhanced learning capabilities. This will be greatly beneficial to thestudents’ creativity and ability to adapt to future jobs and career needs,improving the quality of students and building a good foundation for the future development of the students. There is also an important practical application for the training of qualified nursing professionals.
