Multimedia computer-assisted instruction(CAI) is an important means of modern education for information society with the growth of economy and the development of science and technology. “Chemistry curriculum standardsadvocate of ordinary high school” advocates diversified learning approaches focusing on scientific-inquiry. In order to reach the goals of the new curriculum reform、bring up students’ innovation potential and enhance students’ interest, methods of inquiry is one of essential in practical chemistry teaching. However, there are some chemistry exploratory experiments that are unsuitable in real environment and other issues, inquiry chemistry CAI Courseware of high school can fill these shortcomings as a modern teaching methods. It has certain practical significance to develop and improve student’s experiment inquiry ability by exploitation of inquiry CAI Courseware of high school.In this paper, there are two major studies. The first, the inquiry chemical CAI courseware about the properties of concentrated sulfuric acid and nitric acid was exploited, in which the principles of designing the script of CAI courseware, the script cases, the CAI courseware structures, operating characteristics, how to collect the materials, some designing instructions and courseware cases were mentioned. In the second, 108 students in Lin Dong YiZhong, Chifeng City, were selected for educational experiment of the teaching effect about these coursewares. The results were analyzed.By the statistical analysis of the experiment result, it was found that students grades in experimental class were better than those of comparative class in answering inquiry questions, and there were significant differences,and that the grade of experimental class were slightly higher than that of comparative class in response to general questions while there were no significant differences. The exploring chemical CAI courseware in high school can help students find out problems and cultivate their inquiry ability.Thus, students’ interest of chemistry learning can be triggered and their creative way of thinking can be cultivated, which can improve students’ learning efficiency in class. In order to reflect the superiority of CAI, the traditional teaching methods combining with CAI courseware should be used in class as CAI courseware is only one of the teaching aids.
