Extracurricular tutoring is a kind of after-school education service, which is accompanied by the presence of mainstream schools. Its teaching content, teaching purposes, teaching forms can change with the change of mainstream schools. Today the extracurricular tutoring market’s development is of great prosperity, and students rush about among various extracurricular tutoring agencies tirelessly, not only to increase their academic burden and increase the economic pressure on families, but also affect the development of school education. Therefore, the impact from private tutoring on mainstream school education can not be ignored. It’s essential to explore the reasons for the prosperous development of extracurricular tutoring and the influence of extracurricular tutoring on students, families and schools, as well as to face the inadequate school education, so that we can change the current negative situation of extracurricular tutoring.In this paper, the author will use questionnaire and interview to understand the motives and purposes of students who participate in extracurricular tutoring, and to understand the subject participating in extracurricular tutoring and the teaching content, teaching organization and effectiveness evaluation in extracurricular tutoring from the perspectives of currant situation in extra-curricular tutoring of senior high school students. To analyze the reasons for junior high school students participating in extracurricular tutoring in three-dimensional from students, parents and school education, as well as the negative impact caused by private tutoring on students, families and school education, and the emphasis should be put on mainstream schools to explore what educational reform should school to meet the needs of students and parents on education. The ultimate purpose is to eliminate the adverse effects of extracurricular tutoring.It is because there are some problems in school education that creates the demand for the development of extracurricular tutoring. Extracurricular tutoring, as the main form of shadow education, is just like the shadow of school reflecting the trend of school education. Due to the current examination and evaluation system, schools’teaching content becomes more difficult, so that students can not digest the knowledge and their learning efficiency is relatively low; the modes of large classes can not consider the needs of all levels of students with different learning needs; the uncertain attitudes from school teachers drive the development of extracurricular tuition; the phenomena of key classes and key schools make the distribution of quality education resources uneven, so a lot of students and parents want to gain some quality education resources through extracurricular tutoring; establishing a curriculum reform of the student-centered class has not been effective implemented, students’ center position in the classroom has been weakened; individual teachers lack the emotional investment in education. All of the above reasons create the conditions for extracurricular tuition’s prosperity and development. Therefore facing the deficiency of mainstream school education, improving education in mainstream schools are the important ways to inhibit the development of private tutoring and to abate the negative impact of extracurricular on school education.
