A Survey And Research On Mathematics Extracurricular Tutoring For Junior High School Students

The author finds that it's a common thing to take after-class tutoring for students of Nanjing and Suzhou.More and more junior high school students begin to take one kind of tutoring,math,after class or even at weekend.It seems that mathematical extra-curricular tutoring has become a part of study life of junior high school students.And parents believe that mathematical extra-curricular tutoring is necessary since the hours a student spends in school on math is not enough.Here are four points this paper will cover: surveying the situation about mathematical extra-curricular tutoring,analyzing reasons for junior high school students to take mathematical extra-curricular tutoring,analyzing results of mathematical extra-curricular tutoring and get a conclusion about the effects to normal teaching mathematical extra-curricular tutoring may have.The author made a rough inquiry first at the school where the author took teaching practice.And did an overall survey in the after-class tutoring organization where the author took a part time job.During survey,documentary method,questionnaire method,interview method and observational method are used.Our conclusion is that the trend for junior high school students to take extra-curricular tutoring is unstoppable,but parents are eager for better after-class tutoring organization.And the society omits supervision to those illegal organizations.At last,we give some advise for extra-curricular tutoring.
