The school-based teaching research,based on schools, with teachers as subject, and thepractical problems encountered in the teaching activities in school as the object, aims topromote the development of students, teachers and school teaching research activities. As anew model of improving teachers’ professional growth and the quality of teaching, it plays amore and more important role in education and teaching practice. With the constant advanceof curriculum reform, it has already become a hot issue to use the theory of the school-basedteaching research to guide the practice, to solve practical problems in education and teaching,to promote the development of teachers, students and school. Therefore, it will make muchtheoretical and practical sense to take a practice of the school-based teaching research into aschool as a case study.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is the introduction. It begins with the background of the issues, and thenelucidates its concept, connotation, elements, main idea and basic characteristics on the basisof the review on domestic and international literature about the school-based teachingresearch. Finally it points out the study object and the research methods.The second part involves the practice study of the school-based teaching research intoShouguang Experimental Primary school. It make a study of the practice case from threeaspects–self-reflection, peer coaching and professional guidance, and describes the specificcontent and measures of the research carried by the school in the above three aspects.The third part is about the reflection and suggestion on Shouguang experimental schoolschool-based teaching characteristics and research practice. It summarizes the school-basedteaching and research achievements, and points out that the school-based teaching researchplays a positive role in promoting the teachers’ professional growth, enhancing their sense ofhappiness, and enlarging the school culture and brand influence. It also lists the existingproblems in the process of school-based teaching research, such as teachers’ weak awarenessin the research, lack of study ability, overweight workload, and the school-based teachingresearch evaluation. Finally, it comes up with a strategy to solve the above problems: changethe education ideas; enhance the teachers’ research awareness; ease their overweightworkload; create favorable research environment; strengthen the professional guidance; improve their capability of research; better the research evaluation mechanism; arouse theirenthusiasm for research.
